Dark Chocolate Easter Bird Nests

These were a favourite of mine growing up. I've done a bit of tweaking on the original recipe with some grown-up additions. These can be shaped into cookies, or bliss balls or anything really but they are especially cute made into little nests while Easter eggs are available at supermarkets. Ingredients

1/4 cup melted coconut oil

2 Tbsp nut butter of choice (optional)

2/3 cup cacao powder (or regular cocoa)

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups shredded coconut

1/4 tsp of sea salt

Directions:


Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the wet ingredients and mix them all together. That's it!


You can now shape them however you'd like and whatever size you'd like and place them on a baking paper lined tray and put them in the fridge to set.


Decorate with your favourite colourful chocolate eggs (optional but so cute).
